Excellence in Construction Award Winners

The Florida Gulf Coast chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced their 2021 Excellence in Construction Awards and Colwill was on the winners list! The annual competition is held to honor the most innovative and high-quality construction projects and safety programs in the region. Colwill entered in the Specialty Contractor category and our win was a direct reflection of all our team’s hard work.

Honored for Eby-Brown

The award recognized our $1.9 Million Eby-Brown project in Gibsonton, Florida that ran from April 2020 to November 2020. Eby-Brown, a national distributor of customized c-store technology, foodservice and merchandising solutions, needed a bare-bones, 200,000-square foot warehouse space built out to function as an office and climate-controlled distribution center, including modification of an existing electrical room and underground utility infrastructure. The project was completed flawlessly—on-time, on-budget and with zero major incidents.

A full team victory

The award recognizes the innovation, quality and vision of our entire project team—contractors, architects, engineers, owners and more—who all played a vital role in the project’s completion. Projects are judged on a variety of criteria such as safety, personnel management, quality control, scheduling and degree of difficulty. ABC’s Excellence in Construction competition is our industry’s premier awards program, so it’s a real honor to everyone involved to have been recognized.
