Double EIC Award Winners
We’ve done it again—twice! Colwill Engineering received two Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards through the Central Florida chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. The EIC awards are given out annually to recognize the best, most innovative construction projects and safety programs in the region. Our award-winning projects were the Discovery Church Sand Lake Campus in Orlando and the Grove Bible Chapel in Winter Garden.
Discovery Church
H.J. High Construction Company was selected as general contractor on the Discovery Church project, while Colwill provided all-inclusive engineering, electrical construction, and a low-voltage systems construction package. Highlights included a complete rework of all lighting and controls, computer head end facility with redundant systems and new low voltage systems split between several communications rooms. While it was large, complex job—our team faced every obstacle without concern and succeeded in completing the project on time and on budget. Specifically recognized for this EIC Eagle Award were Van Tilley, Steve Conenna, Luis Contreras, Jan Reinalda, Dan Sutyak P.E., and Rob Robbins. Amazing job team!
Grove Bible Chapel
Once again,H.J. High Construction Company served as general contractor while Colwill was contracted for electrical scope. Aside from standard electrical work and lighting protection, the low voltage was inclusive of Wi-Fi cabling, telephone and computer cabling, access control systems, CCTV camera systems, and IT equipment room build-outs of telecom racks, modular patch panels, and wire management systems. The project was completed flawlessly. What once was a plain metal warehouse building is now a warm and inviting high tech home for Grove Bible Chapel’s members to enjoy. Specifically recognized for this second EIC Eagle Award were Van Tilley, Steve Conenna, Luis Contreras, Jan Reinalda, Baron Diaz, Dan Sutyak P.E., and Kevin Lane.
